How to Create a New Log from the Web
Logbook Admins and Editors can now create new logs from the web app in addition to creating them from the mobile app.
To create a new log from the web app, go to the Location in the logbook where you would like to add a Log, then click on the “Create New Log” button found underneath the location’s title:
You will now be able to customize your log in this location. First, select what type of log you would like to add. Your choices are:
- Numeric Log: for readings recorded in number format (pressure, temperature, etc)
- Totalizer Log: for readings that increase over time (utility meters, hour meters, etc)
- Toggle Log: for readings that require a choice from a set list of options or to set dependencies on other logs (Off/Standby/Firing, Add To Report/Everything OK, etc)
- Note Only Log: for checks that do not involve a specific reading but may require a free-form note
Numeric Logs
When creating a new numeric log, you may designate a unit of measurement (for example, ℉, PSI, PPM, etc), the number of decimal places preferred in the numeric log, and an expected range for the log. Numeric logs that fall outside your given range will alert the operator and will also be included in your email report and on the web dashboard for that logbook.
You can also add a custom note for the record-taker such as special instructions, reminders, or guidance text.
Totalizer Log
When you create a new totalizer log, you may designate a unit of measurement and the number of digits that will appear after the decimal point in the log.

Toggle Log
You can add toggles, reorder them, and replace the names of the toggles with the text you desire for the log during creation. You can also add a custom note for the record-taker such as special instructions, reminders, or guidance text.
The toggle preview is not supported in Internet Explorer. To see the preview, please use the latest version of Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.
Be careful when making new toggle logs--toggle labels and their order CANNOT be edited once the log is created.
Note Log
Selecting note log will allow a record-taker to enter a free-form text note. You can add a note and also a more detailed explanation of what the record-taker should be capturing in the log.
