Most of the time, we are able to update the LogCheck service without interruption. Occasionally, we need to perform maintenance that requires us to take the LogCheck service offline for a brief window of time. When this happens, we will contact you by email so that you will have time to make any needed preparations.
If your working hours fall completely outside the maintenance window, you probably don’t need to do anything. If your facility runs 24/7, you will still be able to complete your inspections, although you may need to adjust your procedures somewhat.
You won’t be able to use the web app
You won’t be able to visit LogCheck in your browser during the maintenance window. You cannot review uploaded log entries, notes, or photos. You cannot download reports.
If you have any integrations using the LogCheck API, they will stop working during the maintenance window. LogCheck will respond to any API requests with HTTP Status 503 (Service Unavailable).
You will be able to do rounds with the mobile app
When the LogCheck service is offline, the mobile app will behave just as it does when your device has no Internet connection. You will be able to enter readings, attach photos, and make edits to your logbooks, provided you are already signed in before the maintenance window. Your changes will be stored on your device until the LogCheck service comes back online.
You won’t be able to sign in, reload, or change logbooks in the mobile app
Signing in to the mobile app, reloading a logbook, or changing logbooks requires communication with the LogCheck service.
If you’re signed in to a logbook when maintenance begins, you can keep using that logbook in offline mode. You’ll be stuck with that logbook, however, because you won’t be able to change to a different one until the LogCheck service comes back online.
If you’re signed out when maintenance begins, you’re out of luck: you won’t be able to do anything with the LogCheck mobile app until the service comes back online.
If you attempt to reload or change logbooks while the LogCheck service is offline, your device may sign out, and you won’t be able to sign back in until the service comes back online.
If you share a device for doing rounds and the maintenance window coincides with a shift change, you should plan to pass along a signed-in device from the earlier shift to the later shift, instead of signing out and in like you normally would.
Email reports will be delayed
Email delivery will be paused during the maintenance window. If an email report was due to be sent during the maintenance window, it will be sent as soon as the LogCheck service comes back online.
LogCheck email reports always include all information uploaded since the prior email report, so you don’t need to worry about “gaps” because the reports were sent at irregular times.

Depending on the nature of the maintenance, there may be specific circumstances affecting your logbooks or specific steps you need to take before or after the maintenance window. Anything of importance will be explained in email we send you.
